I was at the show its kinda been a few months now but i wanted to do one any way and just say that this was the first concert that i have ever been to.i am a 17 year old male who is kinda a newer journey fan i have liked them for a few years now, but it was with out a dought the best part of my summer and one of the best things i have seen in my life. i thought the show was great, heart and journey both did great, the only real down side witch alot of ppl have talked about was that the crowd was dead for most the show. the first few rows were standing for the whole show and then a huge gap pretty much to me and my family were sitteing, but i was on my feet all night i loved the show and love journey and am so glad i got to see them. and jsut a side note if you dont plan on standing and cheering dont buy floor seats haha

Saw the show and as always with Arnel I was blown away. Arnel has added new life to the band. I would have liked to hear "After All These Years", but all in all a great show.

I agree with the "crowd" review. Too many people in their seats. Wwe actually left our seats and went to the floor to join in with the rest of the peolpe that were standing. It was a great show. The band sopunded great and Arnel's pipes were unbeleivable!!! I can't wait til Journey comes back to the Midwest. The Wilson sisters sounded better than ever!!

Loved, loved, loved the show. My husband and I enjoyed the concert from the 3rd row. Arnel was great and really connected with the crowd. However, we would have really liked to have heard the new song, "After All These Years". Please come back to Rockford, IL again!

JOURNEY & HEART – ROCKFORD, IL – METROCENTRE – 8/18/09

If I had to use one word to describe the show: AMAZING!!!

Maybe not quite a sold-out show, but empty seats were few and far between. Even Rockford's Katie Crowther (WTVO/FOX 39) was at the show as well as Eric Wilson (13 WREX).

This show was the first time I had seen Heart and despite Ann & Nancy Wilson joking about performing material for decades, neither shows their age or any signs of stopping anytime soon. Ann can still mesmerize a crowd with her powerful soaring vocals, while Nancy still complements with great harmonies and enthusiastic (even childlike) guitar playing. The rest of their band was solid as well throughout the night contributing their own idiosyncrasies while still staying true to the music. Their set-list included the fan-favorites and a few other gems that the audience probably didn't expect, but still responded with great response and applause.

As for headliner's, Journey, they truly are firing on all cylinders and seem to have some new life with the addition of lead singer, Arnel Pineda. Of course the band played many of their greatest hits, but also played welcome additions from their most recent album, "Revelation." The only common complaint from anyone at the show was the repetitive confusion from Arnel that "we" were Chicago -- somehow I hoped someone might correct him, but for the show that this awesome band gave Rockford, I think we can let it slide. To my own ears Ross Valory's bass seemed a bit low in the sound mix, but overall everything seemed balanced. As far as technical difficulties, there seemed to be a guitar problem during the intro. for the band's "Wheel in the Sky," although correction was prompt. Neal Schon's guitar playing is still cutting and yet fluid. Jonathan Cain continues to show his versatility between keyboards, rhythm guitar, and harmonica. Ross Valory continues to express (literally) his humor onstage while playing to the fans and carrying the low-end of things. Deen Castronovo is still a powerful force to be reckoned with behind the drums -- if you've attended any other Journey shows, you'll know he has a set of pipes himself when it comes to vocals. Saving the best for last, Arnel Pineda -- small in stature, yet a force of nature singing to the heavens and blazing back and forth across the stage while commanding the audience's attention. Wow, what a sight to watch. The band really has a great chemistry at this point in their careers and I (as well as other fans) look forward to the future. To those of you that decided to "stop believin',"...well, you're missing out.

8/18/09 Rockford, IL.

The Journey (Revelation) intro > Majestic > Seperate Ways, Only The Young, Neal Solo, Stone In Love, Never Walk Away, Ask The Lonely, Change For The Better, Lights > Jon's Solo > Open Arms, Jon & Neal harmonica/acoustic jam > Wheel In The Sky, Be Good To Yourself, Wildest Dream, Dead Or Alive, Escape, Faithfully, Don't Stop Believin', Any Way You Want It. Encore: Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'

WOW! Last night was the best music i have ever heard come from this band! They were even jamming in parts of songs and really letting their catalog open up. The peak of the performance for me was the Wheel In The Sky which rocked as hard as anything I have seen by Van Halen or Rush, etc.

The band is focused on rocking now and seems to be looking for new ways of creating music live onstage. Steve Perry can stay retired as far as I am concerned becuase Arnel is the man to front this band!

I liked the venue alot and it sounded good in the Metro Centre.

My only complaint is that that crowd was pretty tame. I mean, i know it was a tuesday night, but the majority of the audience sat the entire show until Dont Stop Believin.

Not this guy, my fiance and I were up and rocking all night!

Thanks guys!

Third time seeing Journey in a year. First time indoors, I must say no place like an outdoor venue !!! Arnel from the time he came on stage he never stopped jumping, running, singing and absolutely all over the stage. Journey is better than ever ! The Revelations CD is awesome and can't wait for the new one due out. I heard ESCAPE so I am in heaven, Thank you ! The show was wonderful, I wish the cheap ass's in LaCrosse Wi. would plunk out some money and get these guys instead of few shows and the one they have Cow tippin music UGH !! Thanks for a great show and YOU will see me again
