Adrian, thank you for the friend request. It's amazing how many young fans Journey has. Actually, when I think about it it's not really so amazing. Journey is a great band and the guys are all really good people. God bless.

hello adrian, this is RnR...,Your absolutely rightabout "moving on" It is diffucult, becuase I wrote songs/lyrics for so many bands over the years,4 of which I distinctly remember writing went top 10 if not #1 in varios genres of music,I used to freely share anything w/anybody :lyrics(have written well over 1,000 poems/lyrics songs have written well over 1'ooo also,a record exec from columbia, gave me an offer to make me a "superstar" but in doing this he said the "wrong" thing to me! he said (image was more important than the music!)so i and not politely declined! I am true to the arts and will always be!but after watching bands make 100s of millions (literally)off of your material It,s hard to walk away .but your correct you have to and I do have 30 monster songs (original of course) that encompess various genres that are almost completed I do need to copywrite them!and they will blow a lot of bands away .that is not why im doing them though It is a special place for me to "go" in good times/bad times, if the creator of all we percieve to be "reality" wishes me to have financial gain then i will,if not the music will still "get out there for people to enjoy and hopefully be there for them in goob/bad times, again thanx for the inspiration !peace! rocknroller
hello adrian,my user name Is rocknroller;I am 44 years old,and have been playing music for 39 years, started out on piano, then trombone. synthesizers were sent to my school, when I was In 4th grade and could hardly wait for "music appreciation period" and it was awesome!I learned how to play a recorder their and a little clarinet, and various percussion instruments,I got serious with guitar about 14-15 years old left home about 15-16,and at 16 had a job at a newspaper in boca raton florida, inking the plates for the type sets and running the "bundeler machine" the hours were 36 straight(you couldnt stop the presses until that publication run was over)then 24 hours off. after 16 hours you are just mindlessly doing robotic moves, after 24 hours straight you seem to get a second wind ,and just make the moves, but by this time you are on auto-pilot so you can drift a little and think about things other than what your doing.at 32 hours they said look at the clock, with smiles on their faces were almost done.and the last 4 hours flys by, at 36 hours the last roll was coming to and end and geeting smaller so you just want it to end so your moving fast and then before you knew it your done, see ya in 24 hours .and their faces had a look of hope (could I handle It) I said see ya in 24 and split,at this point your feet hurt so bad I couldnt walk the 1/4 mile home. and your body starts shutting down fast, hard to keep eyes open,so I figured I not only couldn't walk without limping, and great pain and didn't know if if i could keep my eyes open for the 20 minute walk home so they had a dumpster 1/2 filled with off prints and missprints so i would crawl in their and withen 30 seconds, sond asleep.you wake up about 4 hours later, walk home eat a large meal, and sleep for 19 hors ,and then shower ,eat anothe LARGE MEAL!And do it again pay was $5 an hour, and in 1980 that was good pay,you got paid every 2 weeks and ,it was a twice aweek publication, called the "sun sentinal" so after 2 runs you had 2 days off but one of those days was 1/2 sleep ,so really you only had 1-1/2 days off. This did not fit in with my youthfull dreams off rock and roll ."I am a musician and have multiple songs on the radio going back for 20 years and I have very little money, though I have written songs that have made bands you know hundreds of millions honestly,rule#1 copy right your material and unfortunatly music is a gift given to us and I being a truting person (not anymore as much)which I also don't like'have had songs "stolen and even plagurized by saying they wrote them I will give you one example I wrote "she talks to angels" and rich robinson(the black crows) did not honor our agreement. which I drew up on the back of the lyrics, and we both signed and dated,I wrote all the lyrics, acoustic guitar parts melodies chords ,runs, riffs, harmonics all they did was add keyboards and drums/bass,the bass just follows my chords and arrangement, the keys just follow my chords and arrangement, his brother sings my lyrics,my melody, and rich plays 100 percent just like I wrote it guitar parts. It took me 3 1/2 hours to teach him the guitar parts and how to sing the melody. and how to get to the "open"g I used on that piece.drop the a to g ,drop the low e to d drop the high e to d that song shot them straight to the top and to date they have made 200'000'000 plus I read in a statement about them and I dont know if my song hit#1 in the 90s but im sure it must have hit the top 10 at least and I know It was 1 of the biggest hits of the 90s If not the biggest, they recieved all kinds of awards for my song I think it was probably the biggest hit they ever had ,and it wasn't even their song at all!all their fans think he wrote it,not! the record companies think he wrote it, not!I personaly couldn't live a life like that and look at myself In the mirror.A deep secret you can't tell anyone but those Involved. And for all I know rich told the band he wrote it and gave his brother the lyrics! The other members might be Innocent. I dont know what he told them. their the ones that are living a lie,not me.all the way to the bank laughing. If this got out It would be a huge scandel In the industry. I have a irrefutable star wittness who will testify in court for me (the 2nd person I played It for after writing it) and a host of other people,RICH WATCHED ME WRITE IT!It came to me in like 20 minutes I allready knew the tuning, so went there and started struming harmonics then chords, little guitar riffs ,then singing about some one I knew and loved and would write the lyrics down and start playing again, then handed him my notepad. always keep paper and pen handy, and would think for a minute about her and tell him some words to write down for me so I could sing and play at the same time without having to keep putting my guitar down to write.bam! she talks to angels just like you hear it on the radio, minus, keys, drums, bass. I will never "get over that one! I want the world to know ,who ,what,It was written about. how I wrote It. why I wrote It,and who she was to me. one of the biggest scandels of the rockinroll world.I can prove beyond a shadow of doubt in court w/ my wittnesses and one particular (star)wittness who's testimony could not be refuted.thanx for letting me vent,It takes money for a laywer, I dont have any! friends have donated a lot of equipment to me for this project I am doing 3 albums. but something like I go thruogh w/ the crows....you never get over that.Anyways I had the honor once to meet journey In 98-99 or real close to that. It was at neal's house neal Is a complete gentleman,he's a deep thinker, has a good attitude,is courtious, and "mellow" untill he gets on the guitar! no more mellow,he comes alive! and is extremely talented,He Is a family man with a wife, who Is very kind, you could see instantly she was easy going and friendly, ross was way cool we hit it off pretty much right away,he is a cool person with an easy laugh, sharp mind, has a deep respect for music and the responsibility that comes with the level of achievment he has,he's also funny and witty,a quick study on the guitar, when you look in his eyes from 2 feet away,(I had the honor of jamming with him) they are sharp and intense,he is concentrated, and learns different material real fast.he can also show genuine concern with his eyes (they are the window to the soul!)greg rollie had an intense look in his eyes.I was there maybe an hour with that years lineup(minus steve perry)Iwas playing a lot of guitar when they were playing in the 80s-90s and didnt listen to the radio back then so missed out on a lot of their material because of this,I had the opportunity of seeing the new line-up in paso robles and thought it an excellent show! That night I realized a lot of songs I really liked! they wrote!I think arnell did an excellent job as frontman/singer he has excellent stage prescence/and is very talented/great voice the drums and keys were excellent very professional ,I believe the band has a lot of years ahead of them. A band is like a family and im glad that they can do what they enjoy, and make a living. that is the ultimate dream of every musician, keep up the good work you are doing for them, they appreciate It Im sure.RnR ....for every success story their is a 1'000 sad ones I am not the 1st one to be ripped of nor will I be the last.the world unfortunatly is not the utopia we all want ,because of bands like the black crows who dont care how they get to the top (even stealing songs like mine and lying to the world about It as long as they got the money because of bands like that is the reason their is even a copyright law,if everyone was honest we would not need them.RnR....p.s never do drugs!and alcohol If you must..moderate...peace!
