Film Capturing Filipino Singer's Triumphant Homecoming has 2nd Best Debut Sales Week of 2009

Journey's two-DVD Live In Manila, capturing the band's historic concert in Manila, Philippines earlier this year, debuts at the top of Billboard's Top Music Video Sales chart , marking the first time the band has topped this chart. Journey's 2005 release Live In Houston 1981 - The Escape Tour peaked at number nine.

Performing more than two hours' worth of classic favorites, as well as new hits from the band's latest album Revelation, Live In Manila documents the triumphant homecoming of the band's singer Arnel Pineda on March 14, 2009.

Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory, and Deen Castronovo returned to Pineda's homeland in March to introduce him as their new lead singer to a crowd of nearly 30,000. By the time of the Manila concert, more than 800,000 copies of Revelation - the band's first album with Arnel - had been sold, and were supported with sold-out shows all over the world.

The Live In Manila DVD, like Revelation, is being sold exclusively at Walmart in North America.

A fitting epilogue to Journey's Revelation

By choosing the Manila show and releasing it right after the conclusion of the tour, this journey has come full circle, from Neal's search on the web, to the recordings of Revelation, to the unforgettable warring factions (SP loyalists), to the mostly sold-out world tour, and finally binging back Arnel home with this DVD.
Journey shows provided an ESCAPE from the uncertainties of the past 2 years. This dvd allows us to relive those exciting earth-shaking moments we experienced.

*The songs from Revelation rock live!(these songs were never on the NewYork airwaves but i was ecstatic when i heard "What it takes to win" on the opening segment of last year's NYC marathon. I also once heard "AATY" while grocery shopping, and last summer, while my friend and i were eating pizza at the boardwalk down the Jersey Shore (Seaside Hghts.) "Where did I lose your love" was played on the local station. (what a great situation

*Deen was on fire. He's got some snake-charmer's moves back there. Most people love M/F, but i think he tops it with "Still they ride". He is capable of producing a hit for Journey the way Nancy did with Heart (These Dreams). He should do a track or two in future releases.
*"Who's crying now" is the only song i know that is both a top 10 hit and a rarity at the same time. It was again excluded. The guitar solo at the end of that song is so emotional, it can be extended to create a full length song, put some pinch harmonics and some tapping and Neal could produce a number that could rival Satriani's "Always with me, always with you". As a replacement, they palyed "TDTWT" which was also very good.
* Love the new versions of the Dirty Dozen, and some even made more supersonic with additional guitar solos.
*There was again a jam between Neal and Jon but this time instead of the harmonica, Jon used a strat. It would be a nice act if in the future he could instead use a Roland shoulder synthesizer that was popular with funk bands in the '70s-'80's, that could be a fun "showdown".
* The flag waving, which was prominently displayed during "DSB", was the band's way of dedicating this song to the long time suffering Filipinoes as a result of natural calamities or otherwise, and to salute them for their resilience.

Journey TOTALLY ROCKS, always have and always will!! Arnel is an EXCELLENT addition and phenomenal vocalist! After hearing just two songs featuring his powerfully melodious voice, I'd developed full-body goosebumps! Major Kudos and High-5's all-around for such a sharp/wise addition!! : )
